Blessington Library is now providing access to Touch-Type Read and Spell (TTRS), a multi-sensory, structured online course particularly useful for those with dyslexia, DCD/dyspraxia, ASD and ADHD. It assists those who experience spelling, reading or writing difficulties and also develops their typing skills. It is suitable for all age groups, learning at their own pace, at home. 4^th West Wicklow Festival – 20^th to 24^th May

Building on the success of previous festivals, the 2020 West Wicklow Festival boasts an incredible line-up of musicians from all over the world, with concerts being held at Russborough House &

St. Mary’s Church, Blessington. Having doubled in size since 2017, the Festival has once again expanded its programme and this year will feature 15 incredible artists over 5 days.

The 2020 programme features performances from the captivating Polish mezzo-soprano Hanna Hipp, internationally acclaimed American violinist Tai Murray with German pianist Silke Avenhaus, renowned French string quartet Quatuor Arod, prominent Swiss based ensemble Trio Gaspard, principal flute of the London Symphony Orchestra Adam Walker and the Festival’s Founder & Artistic Director, celebrated Irish pianist Fiachra Garvey. The festival will also feature rising Irish stars Phoebe White (violin) and Peter Regan (piano).

This year’s programme marks two very important events: the 250th Anniversary of the birth of Beethoven and the 80th anniversary of the sinking of the Blessington Lakes.

In the current Covid-19 crises restrictions and the suspension by the Archbishop of the Sunday obligation there will be no public Masses this weekend, St Patrick’s Day and until further notice in Blessington, Crosschapel, Manor Kilbride, Valleymount & Lacken Churches. You can join us for Mass on the Webcam at 6pm Saturday and 10am Sunday and 10am on St Patrick’s Day. www.blessingtonparish.ie

As there are normally less than 100 people at the weekday Masses these will continue for the present.

To encourage the faithful to enter into spiritual communion through these means. Please see prayer below. This is a time where there is a great need for prayer. Therefore, Blessington Church will be open for quiet prayer and reflection.

Irish Blood Transfusion Service Clinic in Blessington Community College on Wednesday 18^th March from 5pm – 8.30pm. Your donation is always need and appreciated.

Help Promote Blessington Tourism. With the tourist season fast approaching, we are looking to enhance out tourist experience and to showcase Blessington at its finest. We believe we have identified all the big local attractions, which we have been promoting to all our visitors. Many thanks to the parents who organised the coffee morning in aid of the Green Wall which raised €186. This project set up by Eco Congregation Ireland aims to plant trees across the Sahara Desert in Africa in an effort to reduce the expansion of the desert through climate change. Already the planting of trees has improved the quality of soil and the lives of the people in this region. Your support for this project is much appreciated.

Anam Cara South Dublin the organisation that supports bereaved parents, are holding a Parent Support Event on 9^th March at 7:20pm in the Maldron Hotel, Whitestown way, Tallaght. This event is free & open to all bereaved parents regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death, or whether their death was recent or not.
