Blessington Tidy Towns and Forum have organised our annual Community Clean Up for Sunday 26th May meeting at 8.45am outside Credit Union.  We are hoping volunteers will come out in force as we make a  big effort to prepare for the annual Tidy Towns judging.  It would greatly help organising of the event if you could mention your interest in advance to Michael Sargent by text 086 244 3640 or by email or by dropping a note to Corner House, Main Street.

West Wicklow Festival takes place this weekend 15th to 19th May Building on the success of previous festivals, the 2019 West Wicklow Festival boasts an incredible line-up of musicians & artists from all over the world with concerts being held at Russborough House and St. Mary’s Church, Blessington. Tai Chi Classes (in aid of the Coimin Centre) every Tuesday from 3pm to 4pm in HD Fitness (under the Lemon Tree). Suitable for all ages & levels of fitness, this is a gentle form of exercise which improves coordination, balance, joint mobility & core strength. The Blessington Girl Guide Unit is being revived & we would love to get some people involved. This is for girls from the age of 10 to 14. They will meet at 7.30pm on a Monday night in St Kevin’s Hall. There is a meeting to have a chat with interested people on the 20th  May at 7.30pm in St Kevin’s. PoulaPoetry would like to thank everyone who came to the library on Poetry Day Ireland recently, especially those local young poets who read for us, including Poppy, Alannah, Patrick, Liam, Katie, Lilyana, Finn, Isabella, James and Abi. We all really enjoyed and were very impressed hearing you read your poems with such aplomb. Thanks also to Saoirse & Donagh for playing a few tunes for us. We would also like to thank all the parents and schools who facilitated the performers with lifts and encouragement.
