The Stynes Family would like to thank everyone for their support following the passing of Kieran Stynes on 13th May, he was fondly known as ‘The Veggie Man’ in Blessington and surrounding areas.   We felt the love of a community who came out to support us and pay their respects as we took Kieran on his final journey from Kilteel, through Eadestown, Blessington, Oldcourt and Manor Kilbride. The gathering outside our first home in Westpark was overwhelming.  Special Thanks to Kieran’s good friend Fr. Paraic McDermott for all his help and prayers during a difficult and challenging time.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Maria & Family

Lakeshore Striders 3,000 mile Lockdown Challenge. Members of Blessington’s Lakeshore Striders Running Club wanted some extra motivation to stay active and stay connected during this second Lockdown. Members (from seasoned marathon runners to new couch to 5k graduates) pledged their own  distance (100 miles or 100km) that they will run in the cold inclement November weather over the 6 weeks level 5 restrictions. They are sharing their donations between Barretstown  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/lakeshorelockdownchallenge and Blessington Lights (https://www.gofundme.com/f/blessington-lights-up 2 worthy local causes. So if you see them out and about running in splendid isolation, cheers them on and donate to either of these charities. Go Striders!
