The Catholic Church throughout the world & in Ireland is beginning a series of conversations about what God wants of his people at this time.  These conversations are often referred to as a Synodal Process. “Synodal” comes from a Greek word which means “walking together”. On Sunday 17th October  we mark the opening of the Synodal Process entitled: For a Synodal Church, Communion, Participation & Mission.  This Synodal Process coincides with the start of the two-year Synodal Pathway for the Catholic Church in Ireland which will lead, in time, to a National Synodal Assembly in Ireland.

The Folk Group in Church of Our Lady Blessington has been singing at masses continuously for 25 years until Covid silenced us in 2020. We are currently preparing for our return once restrictions allowing singing in church are lifted. We are looking for new members – singers & musicians, especially guitarists to join us in the singing.  A recent survey found that singing in a group or choir is good for your physical & mental health. So, maybe you would consider joining us. We meet for 90 minutes once a week, & we sing at mass every second weekend. We also do some special occasions like, Christmas, Easter, Cemetery Sunday etc. It is a good way of meeting people, getting out of the house & catching up on the local gossip as we are a very social group.  If you are interested, please call Declan: 086 806 3436 or contact the parish office.
